Hello friends!
As some of you might already know, the group has just gone through its yearly list update. That means, that means, that all the names on our two lists are up to date and current.
Exciting Additions Include:
- The mentee lists now also have thumbs, for easier browsing. Exciting!
- Mentors who are no longer accepting mentees have the option of having "[Closed]" by their names (thanks for the idea, Nortya!). Eventually, we will also have an [Accepting] label too.
- Cookies for everyone!
So if you're interested in helping an artist out with feedback and support, or you're an artist looking for feedback and support, check these lists out:
(Now, kaupaint and I did the lists and we checked them twice, but if your name should be on either list and isn't, let me know.)
The Chatter:
A few journals ago, DaggersnRoses asked us, why do mentors do what they do? Why do they volunteer their time? What's it all about?
Here are a few responses I got when I passed the question along to a couple of our mentors:

"I have learned so much from the dA community, this is my way of giving back and passing on the knowledge. It's also incredibly fun! I love filming examples and putting together activities for my mentee, and seeing someone improve under my guide is very exciting. I also learn a lot myself just from putting together and doing the activities that I create for my mentee. By trying to figure out how to teach things and what are the real factors that are holding back my mentee, I learn to see art differently, and I find myself looking for things that never even crossed my mind before. For me, being a mentor is as much a learning experience as being a mentee."
Xiaooyu:
"Just to help others, I guess! I personally love to help people, and that is just the way it should be. We should all do our best to bring each other up, no matter what we can gain from it. And plus, you get teaching and social experience."

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS: Twitter? Be more active?
Happy new year everyone! It's your Founder, Page, here. It's been slow for us this past year, but I think that there are so many things we could be doing to make this group even better! Please peruse the ideas below, and comment your ideas below!
:twitter:
First off, I noticed that the Twitter widget is free for us now as a non-core group - so I think it would be a really fun thing if we created a twitter account for our group! We could do promts, post resources, and generally have a platform to be more active on a smaller scale. Any other ideas are welcome! If you'd like to be an admin of our Twitter, please send an application to m

New Founder: Page O'Hara!
Hello Deviants of Deviant-Mentor (https://www.deviantart.com/deviant-mentor),
I am here to announce that I am your new Founder! I have been a mentor since 2014, then a Co-Founder, and have recently been promoted to founder. I am honored to have been chosen as the successor of ninebark (https://www.deviantart.com/ninebark), who of course will still be with us as a co-founder.
You may have already noticed a couple of changes, to our Rules page and some formatting on our home page. We will be adding an F.A.Q. Section to our Rules page in the near future, so keep your eyes open for that. Let me know if there are any questions you think should be added!
I would also like to urge everyone to please, make sure you are watchi
Hello there! I'm Little Chmura
As a new mentor here I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. The group is somehow dead so let's warm it up, shall we?
The purpose of this group is just great, therefore I'm calling out all active mentors out there to do the same - write a little bit about yourself, show how much you care about art and community !
Without any further ado, let's begin!
I'm little Chmura . I'm a 21-year-old girl who's studying Media Art and loves hand-drawn animation as well as low-poly paper style 3D modelling.
It would be great if I could help someone discover the beauty of animation creation! Dear future Mentee, don't be afraid to PM me ;)
